PART 2

The 21st August was the day many of us were waiting for and the return of parkrun to Wales. This saw Roadents Volunteering and running across the country with Ade Bragger even making a celebrity performance as Zippy at Pontypridd.

It was a definite highlight seeing him when we were going up by the main gates although I didn’t find out who it was till the end. Laura McCarthy and Emily Morton got PBs at Pontypridd so well done both and amazing running.
Iestyn Henson and Elizabeth Henson and Charlie Smith were the most travelled Roadents for parkrun with a visit to Wycombe Rye by the Hensons and Charlie running at Sandy Water.
Cardiff was visited by Oliver Williams who was 1st finisher again and Andy Davies added another run to his quest to get closer to completing 500 parkrun. Merthyr saw Simon Lewis as First Finisher. Charlie Beasdale ran at Llyn Llech Owain in west Wales and Ben Butler-Madden ran at Barry Island.
Penalta Park run saw the most Roadents outside of Pontypridd this weekend with Keith James, Laurence Pole, Nick Pounder and Jo Gwynne enjoying the run.

Last but not least Pontypridd Park Run was back for its 300th run and it was great to see the club out supporting the event with 34 runners out on the course. From a personal view point it was great to see people I haven’t seen in a very long time and the course in reverse is a very interesting run and well done to everyone who got it back up and running.

Andrew How was First Male Finisher and Liz May was First Female Finisher. Darren Bishop, Gethin Edwards, Samuel Jody Richards, Matt Regan, Martin Carson, Philip J Williams, Griffiths Warners, Gwyn Johnson, Jim Murray, Huw Keveren Davies, Ceri-anne Davies, Paul Williams, Bethan Ford, Tim Davies Neil Fitzgerald, Martin Green, Jennet Holmes, Gwyn Lloyd, Emily Morton, Jean Marchant, David Mather, Paul Iddon, Stuart Williams, Bretti Paxton, Abby Forster, Peggy Edwards, Wyn Thomas, Brian Gough, Mark Douglas, Claire Ghuman, Emma Addis, Laura McCarthy, Gareth Harvey and Mair Johnson also enjoyed a Saturday run around the park.

A special mention goes to Pip Jack who took part in Welsh Celtic Plate 100 Km event and finished 7th for Wales. Great running Pip.

Apologies if I have missed anyone out but its been a very busy 2 weeks of running. Once again can I ask that all Roadents put themselves as Pontypridd Roadents AC in Running club or I risk missing you out in the weekly results.
