PART 1

What an Exciting and busy 2 weeks it has been for all the Roadents.
Weekend 14th-15th August

This was the last week that parkrun wasn’t on in Wales and Thornbury parkrun was visited by Oliver Williams who was first finisher and Iestyn Henson, Elizabeth Henson, Laura McCarthy and Ade Bragger also enjoyed the delights of Thornbury. Mount Edgcumbe Park Run was visited by Paul Williams and Wendy Williams.

On the Sunday Roadents took part in the infinity Pick and Mix challenge with some great distances being covered. Steve Hooper Fiona Davies and Griffiths Warners got in on the Ultra fun completing 33 miles. Iestyn Henson and Ade Bragger completed 19.8 Miles. Mike Gwynne Jo Gwynne Emma Addis Wyn Thomas Elizabeth Henson and Laura McCarthy all completed the Half Marathon Distance on a tough trail course.

Proof racing is making its way back was shown this week with 2 Weekday races. The Cardiff Sunset 10K and Rose Inn Challenge took place with a sizeable turn out in both events by the Roadents and there were impressive performances across the board.
The Cardiff Sunset 10K saw some strong Performances and some podium finishes again.
Simon Lewis and Oliver Williams won their age categories and Keith James came 3rd in his. There were also strong performances from all members who completed the race with Luke Spencer, Tim Spencer, Gethin Edwards Charlie Bleasdale (First race as a Roadent), Phillip Evans, William Denny, Gareth Evans, Michael Foster, Matt Regan, Stephanie Davies and Andy Davies all having great times. Nice to see everyone racing and some family rivalries continuing 🙂.

Friday the 20th saw the one off Rose Inn Summer special replacing the series for this year. A 4 Mile run on the flat fast 2 lap Rose Inn Course that has been a favourite midweek Jaunt for many of us over the years. This year there was a healthy turn out of members and some good performances again.
Daniel Hamilton finished 2nd in 19.31 for the 4 miles and Symon Murphy came 4th. Other members who competed and completed in great times were 20th Kristian Walters, 32nd Simon Miles, 39th Laurence Pole, 57th Martin Carson, 77th Jordan Brown, 88th Rob Flanagan, 98th Martin Green, 100th Jennet Holmes, 104th Claire Costello, 119th Jean Marchant, 123rd David Mather, 125th Peggy Edwards, 128th Paul Iddon and 133rd for Pam Flanagan.
